Dig Deeper, There’s More in God

Let’s be honest. A lot of us can recite scriptures without ever pausing to ask: Do I really believe what I’m saying?
We know the verses that sound good. We use them when times are tough. But have we studied the full context? Do we understand the weight of the words we’re declaring,or have they just become spiritual catchphrases?
Too many of us are stuck in cycles, clinging to the verses we’ve memorized without meditating on their meaning.
We quote “No weapon formed shall prosper,”but don’t live like it.
We say, “I can do all things through Christ,”but operate in fear.
It’s not that the Word isn’t true, but it’s that we haven’t gone deep enough to believe it with our whole hearts. Hebrews 6 calls this out directly. It tells us to stop recycling the basics and move forward in our understanding.
This challenge isn’t just about knowing more; it’s about living differently. It’s about letting the Word take root in our actions, our thoughts, and our decisions.
“Then we will be mature in our understanding. We will not need to start again with the basic teachings... And so, God willing, we will move forward.”Hebrews 6:1,3 NLT
But Hebrews verse 12 issues a warning: Don’t become spiritually dull and indifferent.
That’s what happens when we settle for surface-level faith.
When we stop asking questions.
When we stop digging.
When we stop expecting new revelation.
Some of us have been in church for years. You’re doing the right things, but the fire is gone. You fast, but not with expectation.
You pray, but not with urgency.
You quote scripture, but you don’t stand on it without doubt.
You can’t keep living off the basics and expect to win mature battles.
The enemy is strategic. Your faith must be layered. Strengthened. Evolved.
“If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.” Jeremiah 29:13 NLT
God is not hiding. He’s waiting.
Waiting for those who are ready to move from casual belief to committed relationship. From head knowledge to heart connection. This is your moment to make that shift. Fasting is your invitation to go deeper.
Past comfort.
Past repetition.
Past spiritual autopilot.
You didn’t choose to fast for routine. You are fasting for revelation.
You’re denying your flesh so your spirit can lead.
You’re praying so you can hear.
Now it’s time to act like you know, not guess, who your God is.
Reflection:
What Scriptures do I recite but struggle to believe in difficult moments?
Have I been quoting scripture more than I’ve been studying it?
Where have I been spiritually complacent or passive in my pursuit of God?
Am I treating fasting like a habit? Or a holy invitation?
Remember, don't settle for shallow faith. Go deeper. Study God’s Word with fresh eyes, and fast with focused expectation.
