Just Wait: The Strength That Comes in God’s Timing

We Live in a Fast-Paced World.
Waiting can be tough—especially in a society that thrives on instant gratification. We’ve been conditioned to expect everything to happen right away, whether it’s food at a drive-thru or next-day shipping.
But here’s the reality: God doesn’t operate like a fast-food restaurant. He’s not about quick fixes—He’s about preparation and transformation.
When we bring our needs to God, we have to understand that He’s working behind the scenes, gathering all the ingredients we need to step into our next season. And just like a well-prepared meal, some things need time to simmer.
Rushing the process only leads to disappointment, but waiting on God always delivers exactly what we need, when we need it.
Why Waiting is Necessary
"But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; they will lift up their wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired."— Isaiah 40:31
We don’t like waiting, but the wait is where God builds us, strengthens us, and refines us.
When we wait on God, we gain results. When we rush Him, we gain expectations.
There’s an old saying: “You get what you pay for.” If you settle for the fast option, you may miss out on the full blessing. But if you trust in God’s process, He will deliver something greater than you imagined.
Fasting Teaches Us to Wait on the Lord
One of the biggest reasons fasting is powerful is because it forces us to slow down.
We’re used to always moving—going from one thing to the next without stopping. But when we fast, we eliminate distractions, making it easier to hear God clearly and see Him move.
This is why we wait.
We don’t just fast for ourselves.
We fast to grow in our relationship with God.
We fast to receive the renewal and strength that only He provides.
If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or stuck, maybe it’s time to just wait. Let God charge you up fully before you move forward. His timing is never late—it’s always right on time.
Supporting Scriptures
Isaiah 40:31 – "Those who wait on the Lord will gain new strength and renew their power."
Psalms 27:14 – "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
Lamentations 3:25 – "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him."
Your Challenge for Today:
What area of your life do you need to surrender to God’s timing?
Reflect on where you’ve been impatient and ask God to renew your strength as you wait on Him.
