Stillness is a Weapon

We’ve heard it time and time again: “The battle is not yours, but the Lord’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15) So why do we keep fighting battles that were never meant for us to fight?
For many, it comes down to relationship.
When your relationship with God is weak or non-existent, you don’t know when or how to call on His name.
Instead of praying, you panic.
Instead of trusting, you strive.
And day after day, you exhaust yourself fighting battles that God is simply waiting to handle for you.
We were never designed to fight untrained.
Soldiers don’t walk onto the battlefield without preparation.
They go through boot camp.
They train.
They submit to discipline before deployment.
In the same way, men of God are trained through salvation, prayer, fasting, and the Word. That’s where strength is built.
That’s where discernment is sharpened.
But here’s the difference: When you are aligned with God and living in covenant with Him, He doesn’t send you to the front lines alone.
He tells you to stand still.
To watch.
To trust.
To praise.
All while He fights!
Maturity teaches you that not every confrontation requires your response.
Not every attack deserves your energy.
Silence and stillness, when led by God, will win battles you could never win with force. Alignment is the key. Staying in tune with God is the strategy.
This fast is pushing us deeper.
Each year we grow, and growth often looks like death before life.
Just like seeds buried in the ground during dormant seasons, something has to die before something greater can rise.
We die to sin through repentance.
We rise through forgiveness and salvation.
This season, we refuse to be defeated by depression, fear, suicide, doubt, or anything that is not of God. We are standing still. We are using the weapons God gave us. And the weapon is Him.
Reflection:
What battle do you need to stop fighting on your own?
How can God fight this battle for you if you fully surrender it to Him?
What boundaries, habits, or disciplines can help you avoid unnecessary fights moving forward?
Stand still.
Stay aligned.
Let God do the fighting.
Prayer
Father God, we surrender every battle we were never meant to fight.
Teach us to stand still, trust Your voice, and stay aligned with Your will.
Give us the discipline to choose prayer over panic, praise over pressure, and obedience over emotion.
We place every burden in Your hands and trust You to fight for us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
