Are you hungry? If you are, let’s E.A.T.
What are we eating, you might ask? We’re not eating food literally, but the Word of God—E.A.T.: Everlasting Anointed Teachings. The Word of God is the blueprint for life. Whether you’re searching for your purpose or seeking direction, the answers you need are in the Word.
As we fast today, let’s empty ourselves of everything we’ve taken in from the world over the past year and position ourselves for victory this year.
Maybe last year felt like a season of defeat—you didn’t get the job you wanted, you struggled in relationships, or faced personal setbacks. But just as a wound heals and forms new skin over time, God can heal us from the inside out.
In Matthew 9:17, Jesus reminds us that "you cannot pour new wine into old wineskins, or they will burst." This is why fasting is so critical. As we fast, we cleanse our minds, bodies, and spirits so that what God pours into us this year doesn’t spill out due to an unprepared vessel.
How many times have you gone to God for a breakthrough, stopped what you were doing to seek Him, and then, once He answered, went back to the very thing that put you in that situation? That’s what it means for old wineskins to burst open—trying to contain something new in a vessel that wasn’t made to hold it.
Men, this is our year to focus, be made new, and receive our spiritual tune-up. We will not dwell on the hurt, losses, or pain of last year. We are moving forward in faith, expecting victory. It’s time to put down the distractions that consume our time and start building on the solid foundation that God has laid for us.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. - 1 Peter 5:8
We must stay spiritually aware and prepared, recognizing the obstacles and attacks that come our way. God has already given us the blueprint for overcoming—we just have to spend time with Him and build on that foundation.
Let’s E.A.T.
Everlasting Anointed Teachings
For the next 3 to 7 days, what are you going to put down to build your relationship with God?
As with the Daniel Fast, follow these guidelines:
Avoid processed foods
No caffeine, alcohol, or refined sugars
Stay away from preservatives and artificial additives
Deepen Your Understanding with His Word
As you fast, take time to meditate on these scriptures and allow God’s Word to guide and strengthen you:
📖 Matthew 9:14-17 (NIV)"Then John’s disciples came and asked him, 'How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?' Jesus answered, 'How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.'"
📖 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
Reflection Prompt:
What areas of your life need to be renewed so that you can fully receive what God wants to pour into you this year?
Take a moment to pray and journal about what old mindsets, habits, or distractions you need to release so you can step into the new that God is preparing for you.
